Conservation holidays are a way of spending Your holidays, while supporting local community. Soomaa national park is a 390 km2 wilderness area, with only ca. 43 people living there all year long.    As one of the conservation aims of Soomaa NP, is to preserve semi-natural habitats, and culture historical sites,  then all extra working hands are crucial for the area to maintain it s values.

The change in landscape use through the 20th century has brought us to situation, where large river meadows of Soomaa, that have been managed through grazing and hay maiking are becoming more and more difficult to maintain, as the number of local inhabitants has fallen nearly 10 times in last 70 years.

River meadows of Soomaa are important feeding and breeding area to rear birds species like Crex crex, Ciconia nigra, Aquila pomarina etc. As well as to several rear plant and mammal species  To preserve these species and their habitats, and to help local farmers and Soomaa NP managers , we are organizing work camps combined with sauna, accommodation and local food, to introduce Soomaa national park and its values through beneficial methods.
